This is a brief introduction to the course to help you understand the flow, the content and some instructions for the exercises to come. It is also a chance for you to learn more about Marcus and his line of work.
No label Part 1: The Polyvagal Theory
This lesson introduces you to the Polyvagal Theory, a theory by Deb Dana, which explains the patterns of our breath in different social states. It also touches on the changes our breath does to the rest of our bodily operations as we move from one stage to the other.
The changes in our breath creates multiple other changes in our body in a carefully connected system that’s designed to protect us. This lesson explains how breath connects to our emotions, thoughts and action. It also explains the importance of each Polyvagal state and their different uses.
No label Part 3: Breath Awareness
The first step to mastering breath work is to become aware of your breath patterns. This is a quick lesson to get you started on your journey to practicing breathwork. It contains short exercises and advice to help you with the different exercises to come. If you’re new to meditation, this would also be very useful.
No label Part 4: Back to Safety
If you find it challenging to calm down before having an important conversation or presenting a pitch, this lesson would be great for you. It contains breathing exercises that help you move from the fight-or-flight stage up to the safe-and-social state. These are great for times of stress, right before bed or whenever you need to relax.
No label Part 5: Activate Your Energy
Now that you understand how to decelerate your energy, it’s time to learn how to do the opposite! These breathing exercises are perfect to help you energise and get your blood pumping. They can be done in the morning, before exercising or when you want to feel less drowsy.
No label Part 6: CCB Meditation
This is the final part of this course. Enjoy this intense 30-min Conscious Connected Breathing (CCB) meditation session that will strengthen your breathwork abilities. Remember to follow the instructions mentioned in the video to be able to make the most out of this immersive experience. We also wanted to congratulate you for making it to the end of this course. We hope you can take home your favourite breathing exercises and incorporate them into your life when you need to.
